HOUSE RULES AND GUIDELINES

Health Guidelines

All persons coming to Hale Manna are expected to be in good health. You are required to continue practicing the minimum public health safety standards—mask up, especially around other persons; regular washing/disinfection of hands; and social distancing.

Guests with Medical Conditions

Guests with pre-existing medical conditions should understand that staying at Hale Manna is a risk they voluntarily take. Guardians or companions must be present at all times and it is their responsibility to ensure the health and safety of guests with medical conditions. Hale Manna is not liable for any health-related incidents that may occur during your stay.

General Safety & Security

Please ensure the safety of your valuables. We keep an open house, and while we do what we can to make your stay safe and comfortable, we are not responsible for your personal items. Please do not leave cameras, cell phones, chargers, wallets, purses, swimming items, etc. unattended, especially when outside by the grounds or beach area.

There are some stray dogs that come in from the beach area that may not interact well with people or other dogs. Unfortunately, their presence is beyond our control; we will not resort to inhumane practices just to keep them off the property. Please refrain from engaging them to avoid any untoward incidents.

Fire Safety

  • No smoking inside the premises.
  • We especially prohibit smoking near flammable areas (LPG/Butane containers, dry wood/cogon/nipa, and other light and flammable items).
  • For this reason, we also do not allow bringing of outside cooking or grilling equipment.
  • Do not leave devices plugged in unattended (e.g. cellphone chargers should not be left charging when you are away from the room).

Weather Safety

In the event of heavy rains, please refrain from swimming in the pool or in the sea as lightning strikes are a possible occurrence.

Guest Conduct

Please be considerate of other guests and respect their comfort, privacy and peace. Kindly refrain from loud or rough behavior and also from playing music at a high volume, especially after 9PM and in/around the rooms where other guests may be resting.

Karaoke and any type of singalong activity using microphones/speakers is strictly prohibited.

Excessive noise such as screams or shouts, loud laughter or music, aggressive behavior is subject to management intervention. No photography of other guests without permission. Management reserves the right to ask non-compliant guests to leave.

Use of Facilities & Activities

For health and safety reasons, pool and sea hours are from 7:30AM to 5PM. We rarely extend these as these are also the hours in which our lifeguards are present.

Included Amenities

All room rates include free use of pool and sea amenities such as kayaking, snorkeling, standup paddle boarding, and trips to our floating hut above the coral garden and drop off. All sea activities are with the assistance of resort staff/lifeguards.

Washing Off Sand

When returning to the houses, please wash off excess sand. We have designated areas placed around the property for washing/rinsing; please make use of these rather than bringing these inside the houses and rooms. Sand and grime from the sea may clog the plumbing system, so please refrain from washing your clothes in the bathrooms. If you need to do laundry, or your clothes are heavily embedded with sand, ask staff for assistance.

Swimming Pool Rules

Our swimming pools are filtered seawater pools. The pool for children goes to a depth of 2 feet while the larger pool is at a depth of 3 to 5 feet. Pool hours are 7:30AM to 5PM. Children and persons with disabilities/special conditions are required to be accompanied by their family members/guardians.

  1. Shower before using pool.
  2. No diving allowed. Pool depth is too shallow.
  3. No running or rough play in the pool area.
  4. Keep close watch over your children and persons with special needs/conditions.
  5. Take bathroom breaks. Advise kids not to pee or poo in pool.
  6. Be careful when using pool slides. Do the sitting position when going down the slides. Do not do the lying down position when going down the slides.
  7. No swimming during heavy rains to avoid danger from lightning.
  8. Do not leave valuables lying around.
  9. Respect and be considerate of other guests.
  10. No eating or drinking by the poolside.

Sea Swimming, Kayaks, Stand Up Paddles, Floating Raft

All room rates include free use of pool and sea amenities such as kayaking, snorkeling, standup paddle boarding, and trips to our floating hut above the coral garden and drop off. All sea activities are with the assistance of resort staff/lifeguards.

Note: Sea activities may be closed due to a Coast Guard prohibition or obvious weather conditions that make it unsafe to swim or hold any activity (kayak, stand-up paddle boarding, etc.) in the sea.

However, children and persons with disabilities/special conditions are required to be accompanied by their family members/guardians. Life vests and rubber boots are also available free for use to our in-house guests. Wearing of life vests is required for guests as safety precaution.

For health and safety reasons, we strongly encourage you to bring personal snorkeling gear (masks, snorkels, goggles) if you have it, but if not, we do soak our equipment in disinfectant as a precaution. Please be responsible for its use and return in to the attendant after use.

Please do not venture into open garden areas and the sea in the event of heavy rain to avoid any danger from strong sea currents and lightning.

Marine Life Protection

  • Avoid touching and stepping on coral, sea grass and other sea life.
  • Sea grass is food and home to numerous marine species.
  • Removing of any live marine animals is strictly prohibited (e.g. starfish, live fish, etc.).
  • Throwing trash and disposing of any harmful chemical substances into the sea is also prohibited.

The occurrence of jelly fish in the sea is out of our control. Guests are expected to be vigilant and are responsible to wear their own protective swimming gear. First aid on any burns/minor jellyfish stings is available.

Diving

Hale Manna does not offer any diving service. Guests who wish to dive off the property must ensure they do not dive alone and are solely responsible for their own equipment and safety.

Environmental Considerations

Aside from being responsible in disposing of your waste properly, please conserve water and turn off lights and air conditioning when not in use. When venturing into the sea, avoid touching and stepping on coral and sea life. Removing of any live marine animals (e.g. starfish, live fish, etc.) is strictly prohibited. Throwing trash and any harmful substances or chemicals into the sea is also prohibited.

In the garden area, litter should be properly disposed of in the appropriate bio/non-biodegradable waste bins.

Guests are expected to respect our environmental initiatives and minimize waste.

Corkage, Outside Food & Drinks, Cooking

Registered in-house and day-use guests may bring their own food and drinks with no charge on corkage fees. However, cooking and eating inside rooms are not allowed for hygiene and waste management. There are rooms guests may reserve which have their own outside kitchens, where there are no restrictions on bringing or storing of outside food.

Please read and view our Food & Cooking Policy for complete details.

Other Information

Intermittent WiFi

Our WiFi runs on a satellite and fiber internet connection. However, the network may slow down if a lot of people are using it at the same time, which can happen when we are fully booked, or in bad weather. So you may wish to bring your own device just in case. In the area, Globe Telecom generally registers a better availability.

Seasonality of Beach Sand and Tidal Times

Because of our geography, sand on the shores of Hale Manna are seasonal dependent on the monsoon winds. Usually, the white sand returns to our shores during the Habagat season from July to December every year. While guests can enjoy closer sea access during Amihan season, while the sand is on the other side of the peninsula. Hale Manna respects the cycles of nature, we have no control over the timing of sand on our shores.

Similarly, the schedule of high- and low-tides on our shores is beyond our control. These change on a daily basis. Please refer to an online tide calendar to view the exact tidal times.

Moalboal Tourism Pass

Moalboal LGU requires environmental user fee (EUF) of PHP 25/person. Payment at barangay checkpoint or Moalboal Tourist Office (preferred for large groups).
